Sat by the fire, the sun ignites the horizon

Fresh, light and breezy this painting carries a spring like, airy feeling.

This painting was inspired to a trip to Budliegh Salterton where I spent 11 hours just watching the waves and the sun setting over the cliff, by the fire.
Within this work I wanted to capture the essence of this location, also the feeling I had experienced that day.
The soft colour palette conveys a tranquil atmosphere.
The hazy, blended colour variation leaves you lost in what isn't shown. This is reminiscent to the meditative state I found myself in after listening to the waves crash against the pebbled shoreline and the crackle of the fire, everything within the landscape, including myself, seemingly became a whole. There wasn't a beginning or end, only a continuous flow state.
The texture and marks made within the painting are a direct response to traces of visual stimulus within my subconscious from that experience within the location.
